Staying under daily sugar goal

Hi all! I am finding that every day I am under my daily dietary fibre goal (29g) and total carbohydrate goal (176g) but I always go over my daily sugar goal (53g). While keeping this in mind, I try not to eat anything with too much sugar in it, however this always means that I end the day on 1000 calories when my goal is

So my dilemma is: How do I reach my daily calorie goal without going over my sugar goal! I'm so careful, but this always stumps me.

Any meal ideas/snack ideas/low sugar fruits/vegetable tips I would love to hear them.

Thanks

Do you have a medical condition where you need to track sugar?

Did I read that right? You stop eating when you reach your sugar limit, even though you are only eating @ 1000 calories?

Don't do that. Being over on sugar won't impact your weight loss, eating only 1000 calories a day WILL affect your health.

If looking at the sugar being in the red is bothersome, swap it out for tracking fiber.

I add sugar to nothing, I am always over on it because......fruit.

  • @Laurend224‌ Nope, no medical condition. Just following the values that the app set for me really! Yeah, thats why I was confused - I knew eating stopping at 1000 would be detrimental thats why I wanted to check! Fruit and veg is my weakness! Thats why I'm always over too haha. Thanks for your advice :)
  • I just follow the calories only. On the app

It's more important to get your calories down first and not to undereat. Once you do that you can see how you are doing on the macros and micros and adjust.

Quite likely if you include some higher fiber foods that will substitute for some of the higher sugar ones and that will fix it, but don't undereat to stay under the sugar goal.
