Good Luck! I've done a couple of 120+ mile night rides but nothing like 300+ in two days!

In terms of advice, I think that it is all personal, but my tummy really didn't react well to energy gels. Jelly babies were much better! Drink before you get thirsty and have one bottle of water and one bottle of isotonic on the go at the same time. You can get the tablets that you add to water from most bike shops. Eat and drink on a schedule to avoid the dreaded boink; I didn't on one night ride and it made everything so much harder.

Foodwise, Nature Valley bars are good as are those mini 100 calorie cake bars (I try to avoid the chocolate ones). For meals on the move, I found that a simple tub of pasta, pesto and bacon helped me through.

I know that you said your aim was to lose the last few pounds (and I am sure that you will) but you won't be able to complete it if you starve yourself as you need to maintain enough fuel in your muscles to keep going, mile after mile. I burnt 5000 calories on a 126 mile night ride and probably took in 1200 (and I felt stuffed)

Otherwise, clip in pedals, padded shorts, and a well adjusted bike.

    GOOD LUCK!

Most of my food on the bike will be real food sticky rices cakes ,cookies, baked eggs, baked pasta all in small two bite portions. As for drink pineapple juice and orange juice mixed with water.plus a few gels.. As for losing the last few pounds plan to be at weight target for Mid March Then it will be eating enough to maintain weight. Thanks Milla1985 for you message and kind support.
