Hi I am looking for some guidance on what weight of kettlebell to buy.
I want to add more strength training. I want to buy a kettlebell and use Jillian Michael’s “Shred it with Weights” along with routines on fitnessblender. I really want an adjustable kettlebell but they all seem to cost a fortune.
While I am a little out of shape I am pretty strong and tend to gain strength and put on muscle easily if I exercise (sadly I also put on fat fairly easily if I don’t exercise). I don’t want to get one that’s too light that ends up useless in two weeks but at the same time I don’t want to injure myself.
Does anyone have any advice as to what a good starting point might be? Should I buy two, 2kgs different in weight and see how I go?

Do you have a sporting goods store near you such as a Dicks? You may want to go there to see how they feel to gauge your starting point.0

Please don't use Jillian Michaels, she has awful form and will likely get you injured. Look up Lauren Brooks or Tracy Reifkind as a few good starters, or buy Iron Core Kettlebell by Sarah Lurie-it's like $10 on Amazon for four DVDs.0

8kg is probably a good start, anything less and you won't feel it when performing swings0

Yes, 8 kg, or 15-20 lbs (if they are sold in lbs near you) is perfect to start! You'll get a decent workout without too much risk of overloading yourself. Don't worry, once you move up in weight for the swings/squats, you will still make use of the smaller KBs for other exercises, like turkish get-ups, so it's not money down the drain. I ordered my kettlebell and the Sarah Lurie DVD today. Is there anyone i can look at on youtube to learn basic form? My kettlebell will arrive tomorrow but the dd will take more time
