Smoking: Hot or Not?

I agree, it should be banned.
I have nothing against people who wish to smoke - but please not in my breathing space.
I tried it once as a 16 year old and don't know what anybody finds attractive about smoking - plus the fact it costs money!
Both my parents were chain smokers - I worked in an office where the majority of the people smoked in a small room with no ventilation (they wouldn't have the windows open). I used to stink of smoke, even though I wasn't a smoker. In my 40s I was diagnosed as being asthmatic - due to passive smoking! My younger sister was asthmatic from a young age.
Each cigarette has 92 carcinogens. For every 7 that a smoker smokes a non smoker that is sharing the breathing space in a confined space will have passively smoked 1 cigarette.
I have seen people with amputations that have been smokers. Granted not everyone gets cancer from smoking.
I was so glad when the law was passed in the UK with regard to smoking in offices, shops, most public places and transport.
I too feel that more should be done and smoking be banned in the streets and parks. If you want to smoke, smoke in the confines of your own property.
It was very strange, because at home my parents would smoke one cigarette after another. But when I took them to doctor or hospital appointments where there were "no smoking" signs, it didn't bother them!
You can smell a smoker a mile off. A workman came to my house recently and as soon as he came in, you could smell it on him.

Glad to see the overwhelming unanimous decision here is that smoking is not hot or good at all.
It bemuses me when I'm out and see more people smoking than not, its your choice to start, to continue and then you have to deal with the repercussions.
Should be banned.
It'll never be banned in the U.S. By the end of this decade, smoking pot will be legal in every state. How many deaths will be caused by Driving under the influence of Marijuana?
It's called commerce. How much money is made from taxing Tobacco? They'll tax Marijuana as well. And the future league of Marijuana producers will start donating to Addiction Centers that will crop up. Just like Tobacco growers donate to Cancer research and the Lottery has promotes Programs to help Gambling addicts.
Too much money in it. The only reason people are up in arms about smoking is because smokers are now the minority.
I smoke my cigars with other cigar smokers in my backyard or their backyards. I'm not going to quit and you can't make me. Nyah Nyah Nyah

I wonder the bold too? I am sure it happens. I heard that Colorado spend like millions dollars to promote not to drive while high.

Cigarettes were part of the reason that I looked cool back in the day. It was the worst thing though, the money and the addiction, plus the smell. It's been 9 years since I quit, and at $10/pack I've saved over $35,0000

+1. The government shouldn't be able to tell me if I can or can't smoke a cigarette.
And honestly. I LOVE the smell of some cigars.0 -
With a few beers in me I could care less. We all have our vices. Some people smoke, some people eat too much, some people like golden shower porn.0

Nope. An occasional cigar to celebrate a promotion or a business deal but I would hardly call smoking one as being "hot"0

as a former smoker of 20 years..... NOT! it STINKS (not to mention the health issues related to smoking). There are some people I really do not like to come in my house because they smell like cigs. i dont care if other people smoke, but i really dont want to smell it, and i dont wany my clothes and things to smell like it. i quit a year ago and havent had one since. just decided one day that enough was enough (kind of like with me wanting to lose weight this year- same feeling which is why i think it will stick!)
hubby smokes cigars, but not in the house. he knows better. LOLOLOL0
