Hard gainer

Hi I've been training for 45 wks mainly free weights and made quite good muscle gain but really need some weight gain to get bigger. I'm currently on 2200 cal but proberly need to up it again as I don't gain weight easily. Do you think it's important to watch your macros whilst bulking?

    You have to eat clean while bulking. They say who people online. But how are you gonna add weigh eating salad. Maybe eat a jar of peanut butter.

    many do dirty bulking just eating icecream and whatever adds cals... but i add an extra chickn breast and a serious mass shake to supplment extra cals while growing. i dont watch my macros as closley when in a growth phase but i still watch what im eating for most meals then allow myslef a free meal for dinner where i just eat whatever....

    I eat pretty clean , I think I just need make sure I stick to the extra cals and really push myself in my workouts. Think I need to find myself a training partner to bounce off .

    It's a good idea to hit your protein on a bulk, but carbs and fat don't have to be perfect. Most of the time hard gainers simply don't eat enough to support growth. I finished a year long bulk and gained about 15 pounds of lean mass (approximate, since we know not all fat measurements are 100% accurate). Hit protein, fit in fruits and vegetables, fill up on other tasty things.

    If your bulking you dont really have to eat clean but dont go mental. I would say carbs and cals are most important then protein with a minimum of fat for hormone production. I have gone from 75-90kg without gaining much noticeable fat.

    What sort of ratio are you working on ?
    Mine is carb 50% pro 30% fat 20%

    Sounds good to me I'd be happy with a gain like that. At the mo I'm on 2200 cal 50% carb 30% pro 20% fat , I weigh 115lb .
