Adding calories

Why sometimes on my fitness pal if I eat something all the sudden I get a notification saying I can eat 450 more calories today.... Not every day but often and it adds different amount every time it does this why? My calorie goal is no more than 1730 calories per day, wich is good for my height/ weight loss goal. WHY DO I SOMETIMES GET THOSE XTRA CALORIES ? I don't want to eat more than what I'm supposed to!

I've never seen that, but I sure want a notification that I can add in 450 extra calories! LOL0

Are you exercising? If so, you get more calories for it. You should eat half of the extra calories or you'll be in too big a deficit.0

When you work out you increase your deficit, as MFP computes it without exercise figured in. In order to keep your body fueled and not eat at too large a deficit, you're expected to eat those calories back. However, as the MFP database and exercise machines tend to overestimate burns, it's recommended to only eat back 50-75% of those calories.
Now, if you're following TDEE, then ignore those calories altogether.0 -
Exercise isn't accounted for, so when you record exercise MFP want to maintain the deficit it originally gave you so it adds the calories you burned through that exercise and when eaten your back to your 1730 instead of 1280.0

Interesting. Did someone list it as a negative calorie amount in the database?0

I think I have seen that...is it within your diary itself, right below the entry you just made? If so, it doesn't mean you have 450 more calories, it means you have 450 calories left for the day after eating that entry.0

Do you have an activity tracker linked to MFP?0
-
are you using any sort of fitness tracker like a fitbit synced to your app? otherwise you should probably contact technical support0
