Hi! I'm new to the MyFitnessPal community. I have just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which came as a big surprise as I didn't have many of the symptoms and it was found in a routine blood test. I hadn't really ever gained any "unwanted" weight until last year, but I was able to keep it to a minimum by exercising and trying to eat healthier. I'm just looking to get in touch with other people with hypothyroidism and share tips and experiences :)

I have the same issue. Calorie deficit is working for me. Log everything you eat and stay in a deficit. This will work.

I've also been diagnosed recently - in December. I do have a calorie deficit and I take a lot of exercise but still the weight loss is slow and has been very slow for the last few months. It's frustrating because I the calories I consume should mean that I would get a weight loss of 2 pounds a week but it doesn't work that way I may lose a pound every couple of weeks. It is disheartening but I just have to remember how much I weighed 6 months ago and remember I achieved a great loss(44 pounds in total).
