ive got 120 lbs to lose and am starting induction tomorrow. Is anyone on here using MFP with Atkins diet? I changed custom goal to 5% carbs which shows 29g carbs and will just subtract fiber from that number and strictly limit carbs. I adjusted fat to 55% and protein to 40% to get 1. Does this ratio look good? Should the fat and protein be tweaked? If anyone has any input I'm all ears.

Wanted to pop in and say welcome I can't help you with the 'Atkins diet' though as I don't use that. I use MFP and track my cals and workouts through the tools on here. There are groups that are doing low carb you might take a look.0

Not sure about Atkins, to be honest, but I'm following the keto diet and my macros are set up to 70% fat, 25% protein, 5% carbs. For me, 5% ends up being 17g of (net) carbs a day. It's pretty tight, but I've managed.
MFP makes it pretty easy, and you can customize your macros as needed and choose what you want to track.
I just googled up some research and it looks as if Atkins 20 and keto are not too dissimilar. Both are very low carb, and many Atkins dieters are in ketosis. One study I found indicated the percentages used for their subjects were 65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs. This was found in an article on the Atkins diet website.

Atkins and a ketogenic diet are very similar, but you can be more liberal with your protein on Atkins. But even on Atkins, your protein should not be more than 25%. That would leave 70% for fats. The ketogenic diet that I follow is 5% carbs, 15% protein, and 80% fat. The reason I leave my protein lower is because when your body doesn't get enough carbs, it turns to protein next and converts it to carbs, which prevents ketosis. But everyone has their own carb/protein/fat requirement. It's up to you to find yours. If the scale is moving downward, you've found it! Good luck!0
