Can you loose weight without exercise?

I started my health kick 3 weeks ago and lost 10Ibs which is amazing.
The first couple weeks I was able to do very little but some exercise. This week my time has been limited and I haven't been able to exercise (but stayed within my calorie allowance and eaten very healthy) however it appears I haven't lost anything :(
Is this due to no exercise?
I thought weight loss would still happen if you eat less calories and healthy?

Hope someone can enlighten me!

Thank you

You have to make sure to partake in both... healthy eating and exercising.. if you stay just eating healthy it can do a lot for you but exercising can help burn that fat! Even if you start with small walks during the day or even push ups and crunches... start small and work your way up to awesomeness!

Weight loss is 100% nutrition. Exercise is for fitness. Optimally you do both, but its possible to lose weight without ever exercising.

Being in a calorie deficit is what makes you lose weight.

Exercise can be a part of that, or you could create the deficit via diet choices alone.

As to no weightloss: it's not linear. Just because you "should" lose 1lb/week say at a certain deficit, doesn't mean you actually will. Fluid retention often fluctuates and masks weightloss in the short term. Of course, over longer periods (months) fluctuations in water weight make no difference to actual weightloss and you'll find a downward trend on the scale (all things like logging and so forth being accurate, of course)
