No need for archaeological diggings?

New here. This is very inspiring place. I'm 32 years f, 175 cm, 118 kg. After divorce getting back on my feet. Bought a home gym with a lot of functions and rented a rowing machine, have kettlebells of 8, 12 and 24, the last one bought today. (Not used yet :)) I want to be strong and quite muscular. And more compact and also lighter. And hour-shaped. (And a rocket.)
Don't know how to keep the pallette on my hands, all by myselft. Chocolate and eating are the worst of my problems. And the loneliness.
At first I could row only for like 2 minutes and was overwhelmed. Now 5 minutes, 1000 m. Better. And squatting - 2 months ago I didn't like to go down because it was so long way up again, but today I squatted 8x10+12x10+12x7. Have to be careful that I don't hurt my knees. Leg extensions 35x8+28x8+28x8. I don't know any comparisons so don't know if its good or not. But I have always taught that I am strong but not so willing. :)
Few days ago I noticed - or I think it is - my thigh muscle underneath the fat. Can it be true!? It's not burried for ever and ever? There's no need for archaeology? Can I see it more often nowadays?! :)

Hi ☺ sounds like your making a good start and already seeing progress!! Im also a newbie, 28 f and looking to tone up and shed the belly! Im also weak when it comes to chocolate, and find it very difficult to say no if others are eating. I get to the weekend and often cave because i feel i deserve a treat. Determined this time though, need to really focus on changing my mindset so it doesnt feel like im starving myself. Sounds like a whole lot of squats to me!! Thinking i should give it a go ☺

Uhm, quick error fix, I meant 8 kgx10, 12 kgx10 and so on.... :D And same with leg extensions, the bigger ones are weights... I have also eaten when others eat, but now I try to remember that it's like when driving my van: if the snow or slippery roads try to get me off the road, the main thing is HOW QUICKLY I get it back on the tracks again. :)

This caught my eye because I am an archaeologist. I thought I was about to get in a heated internet debate. lol. Good for you! It's a great feeling when you aren't thinking about the scale and notice visible or feelable differences! I too developed better life habits (not imediately) after my separation/divorce. I m now a distance runner. FYI, archaeology is fantastic exercise. ;)

Omg MountainMaggie :D Never even slipped into my mind that some of YOU could be here waiting for a dig! Thanks for the tip, might as well try if someone would invite me to a digging party, but my patience is a bit under construction..
As you noticed I have this own mountain to move and after bringing the 24 kg kettlebell home, as I was carrying it thought about the fact that I have almost twice as much extra in my own body than I had in my other hand.... Whee.. There's a lot to be discovered under the soft layers covering my hard soul!
Maybe my future man should be an archaeologist too :D
