Hi I'm new to My Fitness Pal. Seems to be much better than Weight Watchers Online. Here's my situation: I just came off of a two week fast. I consumed vegetables and juice the entire time. I lost 13 pounds. I've been off of the fast for about four days and as expected, the weight is creeping back on. If I'm consuming the right amount of nutrition (calories, carbs, protein), how much more of this weight should I expect to gain before I can lose again?

The trouble with fasts is all you are really losing is water maybe some fat but mostly water. So when you start eating again you are adding the lost water back in you. From now on just create a calorie deficit, nothing to drastic. Do this everyday which is much easier than fasting. You can do this!!

Hi and thanks. When you say calorie deficit, do you mean I should cut back on the suggested calories given?

No. Do what MFP has suggested.

When you set your MFP goals it asks how much you weigh and how much you want to lose then recommends a daily calorie goal to acheive that. So if you eat what is recommended and readjust your goals after every 5-10lbs lost you should, theoretically, lose weight at a healthy pace.

That's not a fast. Fast is when u drink straight water no calories at all. As soon as u come off a liquid diet or low carb ur weight shoots back cuz the carbs u take holds on to more water than protein that's why folks think they lose weight quick but actually water

Thanks ladies for the insight. It was a Daniel fast in which you can consume juice, water and vegetables.

I expected to gain much of the weight back and understood that weight loss comes from loss of water, I just wondered how much of the weight should I expect to gain back.

It was temp fix. Good for boxers or where u need to lose weight but long run its a failure. Just reduce ur calories from ur maintenance about 500. If u exercise 4x a week than u can up it to about 3
