Homemade almond butter

I just spent the past 20 minutes trying to make some in my food processor, and it tasted awful! My almonds weren't bad, I let it get to a creamy consistency, added in some cinnamon and vanilla extract near the end, but it just tastes...plain and gross. Does anyone have any recipes they enjoy?

Add salt, a 2 finger pinch at a time, then taste and re season if necessary.

Did you toast your almonds before blending?

I just bought some Justins maple almond butter. It is wonderful . Never made it before though. Good luck.

I think toasting the almonds is necessary. I buy the grind-it-now stuff at my Co-Op, and it uses roasted almonds and I love it.
