Hello everyone from myfitnesspal :flowerforyou: I just really wanted to vent about the horrible eating day today I had and I hope some of you can relate because I really need some advice on what to do...I've been on myfitnesspal a while and lost 26 pounds while on birth control suprisingly and am very happy with my success but I always seem to go crazy and think I can have a off day all the time to where I eat like crazy. It ends up to be like 4,000 calories and I cry afterwards. I've been stuck gaining and losing the same exact pounds for two months because I constantly sabotage my diet and think I dont deserve it and just want food when I really want it more than anything... I'll exercise extremely hard the next day because of the guilt and do it all over again.. I cant blame it all on the birth control because I know my mind tells me I need to eat because I have never been skinny and never will. I know this isn't true but its so hard to fight... I am a very strong person and I want to push these feelings away till they never come back again and get to my dream weight!!! I hope someone out there understands where I'm coming from. Thanks

Totally understand where you're coming from.0 -
I totally understand! I've been on here a while and as you can see I've only managed to lose 1 stinking pound. The most has been 6 but I gained it back eating too much takeout and sweets. I wish I had some advice for you but I haven't figured it out for myself yet. We'll get it together one day, I hope.0

Stop eating yourself up with guilt. We've all had those days. They happen. The point isn't to make sure you're always perfect, every day, and completely immune to being a normal person. When you have those days, shrug it off. Don't let the guilt make you feel like you have to be "extra good."
If you have a day where you eat 4,000 calories, you don't have to beat yourself up the next day and be extra-productive and extra-awesome. It's okay to have a bad day. You're normal. You're not terrible. Eating 4,000 calories in 1 day doesn't make you a baby killer. You're just a normal girl in a crazy world, and we're all just like you.
I gained 7 pounds in 4 days because I was binge-eating like crazy. I hated it, but I didn't beat myself up for it or punish myself; if I had, I probably would have gained a lot more than 7 pounds, because my own frustration/hatred of myself would have sent me to the store and buying huge bags of chips, donuts, and other things I REALLY don't need to be eating, turning that 1 bad day into an avalanche of bad days. So I let myself chew angrily on an apple for a minute or two, then got on my bed and cuddled my animals until the feelings passed. And maybe I cried a little bit, too. But that's why you have a community of people who understand exactly what you're going through.0 -
I can relate, I totally binged on crisps and chocolate at my mates last night. I couldn't even complete my diary yesterday as I've no idea what I consumed. Bad times I feel so ashamed of myself today.0

What works for me is setting up what I plan on eating throughout the week.. If you know what you plan on eating, its harder to stray off course.. Nothing is wrong with having a slight cheat day or meal, but dont go too overboard with it.. The stricter with your diet foods, the harder it is to stay focused on it.. I eat things that some say I shouldnt while im dieting (chocolate, soda, chips), but i dont eat them all the time, and i dont eat a big portion.. Youve got to find out what works for you, start slowly taking things out of your diet, limiting calories in steps.. Eliminating more each step.. This will get yourself use to the new diet, rather than a random change..
Also what helps me is eating 5 meals a day rather than 3 larger ones.. Ive noticed a significant icrease in my metabolism and feel like i have more energy throughout the day.. Hope this helps0 -
Thank you everyone for the advice and good luck with your weight loss to those who can relate! We will fight through this wall blocking progress together :drinker:0

Very nicely said. We've probably all been there. We are probably all going to be there again once in a while. Please know there is a whole community here pulling for you and telling you your feelings and actions are pretty common. Somedays success is the small quiet voice that says "I will try again tomorrow."0
