all my life I never really dieted it until recently when I found out my blood pressure was very high and my weight gain have gotten to a point where it was either diet or die.
I've been dieting now for 10 days and I am constantly hungry and at times I feel faint and have feelings of blackout is this normal with a low calorie low sodium diet? I was consuming about 4000 to 5000 calories and who knows how much sodium.... Now down to around 1000 to 1500 calories and under 1000mg of sodium. I'm feeling better but still worry about the vision thing...

Unless your doctor advised you to stick to that deficit, you need to be eating at least 1500 calories

You're a male and should be eating at least 1500 calories. You didn't gain it all in a week, why the rush to lose it? Learn something sustainable, so you can keep it; this is not a diet, but a lifestyle change.

Using this ap has really helped me become more aware of my personal problems with food!

And apparently almost blacking out hasn't helped you become more aware of your current existing personal problems with food, specifically with not eating nearly enough?

If you were eating 4000 calories a day, then try 3000 calories for a while and monitor your results. If you don't lose anything after a month then go down to 2900, monitor for a while, lower again if needed... do this until you are losing ~1-1.5lbs/week.

First of all i hope you went to your doctor.

I had a high blood pressure too.
So i am on a low sodium diet ( monitored)
I dont add salt to anything. But eat normally everything. I cook from scratch and eat a lot of vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, nuts, herbs and spices etc
    So everything

I never had what you describe. My sodium ( that comes out of the natural resources in food) is between 1000mg to 1600mg. Sometimes higher.
I just watch my food that's all i had to do.

Every person is different but i sure hope you went to a doctor first, and worked out your diet plan.

I think that the sudden change to a very low calorie intake plays its part too.

I'm learning how to eat without all the calories and sodium so I'm chalking up the negative reactions I'm having to being on the edge of having diabetes and my body going through a sort of shock period. I can't just lower my calories a small amount until I see a difference. I need to force myself through my food withdrawals and come out the other side knowing how to fuel myself the good way! And yes I've got another appointment with my doc in another 2 weeks to see how things are going.

So you think that it makes more sense that your issues relate to diabetes than it does to your under-eating?

Again... if you were eating 4000 cals before, you are eating 70% less food than you used to. And it's nowhere near how much you should be eating for healthy weight loss. Even 2000 calories would be more reasonable.

But it all depends what his doctor said. And i think listening to a doctor is more important than get it from random people on the forum.
Only i agree that he has to go back and talk about his concerns and fainting feelings

Because i am on 1200+ ( the + for eating a 1/4 back of my burned calories) and i dont have this at all.
I eat a good balanced diet and this is all monitored and checked every Monday.

I agree it could be the huge reduction of food intake. But like i said he has to talk to his doctor about this.
