Would be great to talk to anyone trying to pursue a low carb diet as a vegetarian. I'm doing it and I've done it before and it really works for me but it is super hard work trying to find meal ideas sometimes. Anyone else doing this?

there's a low-carb group within MFP that may be able to help. i'm a die-hard carnivore so i don't really have any suggestions, but i do know that the groups specifically dedicated to low-carbing have good folks who understand the eating plan very well.

You don't have to go as low as keto but this should give you some ideas.

Hey kcmartell. The person you describe is ME! Recently turned vegetarian after a long time not eating a lot of meat anyway (intolerance to chicken and meat is just not a regular occurrence in my trolley) decided that it was time. Also at the beginning of the year started Low carb high fat and i've lost about 4kg (8.8lbs). Feel free to add me! :)

I too am eating High fat also and I am averaging 1/2 lb a day weight loss and I love the fact that I am not hungry and I don't have to count calories. Bulletproof style coffee has been a wonderful addition. I was a coffee lover to start with but when you add butter and MCT oil it is AWESOME

For another angle on this, google eco-atkins on here.
    http://health.usnews.com/best-diet/eco-atkins-diet
That site gives some sample macro percents.

    A step by step:

I know some folks have concerns about too much protein, but I think this is a damned reasonable compromise.

If it worked before why do you need to do it again? Why did you stop? What's your plan for a sustainable lifestyle to keep the weight off permanently?

Do you ask this when someone comes BACK to MFP which "worked for them before" until they "fell off the wagon"?

I, too, am lowering my carb intake as it dawned on me that I pretty much used to eat nothing but carbs with the odd bit of quorn thrown in.

    Veggie for 5+ years!
