Hi,
I've read a lot about the benefits of a sugar free lifestyle, do any of you follow this? What are your thoughts/tips?

I guess if you eat meat and butter only you could be sugar free? I don't think anyone follows that plan on here.

Eating no sugar is nearly impossible.

I haven't had any added "processed" sugars in over a month. The sugars in my diet have all from vegetables and fruit, with the exception of 1 tsp of raw honey and 1 agave stick during this time.

My thoughts are if this is what you want to do, just do it! Stay hydrated and keep your goal in mind.

I still make a jumbo batch of no bakes and desserts for my family every week. We have candy, soda and other treats in the house. I simply choose not to eat them.

I was eating way too much sugar, it was causing me to want sugar all the time! Cookies, cake, icing, anything! I would find any excuse to make something sweet... and eat an unreasonable amount of it while baking and when I served it. My birthday was earlier this month, and on my birthday I decided that I wanted to do 7 days of no added sugar (fruits okay, but no artificial sweeteners- I don't like them anyway). So I did the 7 days and it really helped me reset my relationship with sugar, if you will. I have lost almost 5 pounds in just over two weeks! After the initial 7 days I have had a few small treats, but I am planning to work those out of my diet and save sugar for only on special days (my birthday and my close friends birthdays, and Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.).

Not for me. I reduced my carbs to 35% of my total calories for medical reasons but there is no way I am going to give up fruits, vegetables, breads, and dairy . . . all contain sugar.
