I gotta say being a woman that is balding, obese, and having to pluck facial hair every other day is not exactly what I imagined growing up as a little girl.
hopefully if an when I beat the *FAT* I wont feel so bad about the plucking and lack of hair on the top of my head. is there any other women out there with PCOS that would mind adding me ? would love to have some friends that are going threw the same thing I am anyone feel free to add me but definitely drop me a line if you are also living with these struggles

I don't have PCOS but I have told my children that when I'm old they'd better come to the home and take care of my chin and mustache hairs. They are not allowed to leave me sitting in my wheel chair with pudding in my beard.0

I was diagnosed with this when I was in my early 20's so I have a lot of knowledge on it. suffered with infertility for a lot of years, found myself a great OBGYN and 4 biological children later im don't wanting kids lol

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 17...11 years later, still dealing with all the same problems and they have gotten worse. Feel free to add me.0

i don't have PCOS but my mom does. weight loss has reduced the severity of her symptoms but she still does facial hair waxing from time to time. i only have a tiny bit of hair on my chin, and normal ovaries (except for a big dermoid cyst, which is not pcos).0

so I have been doing so reading up on my PCOS the last time I read up on it was about 10 years ago, a lot has changed since then. I have a lot of the symptoms and illnesses caused from it. high blood pressure obesity type 2 diabetes infertility (obviously I got that fixed lol) hair loss facial hair high cholesterol and the list goes on.... but what really gets me is that I have to work twice as hard as any other woman my age with out pcos just to lose a pound and it is like ten times easier for me to gain weight than a women my age with out pcos... fare? I think not. ugh any of my pcos cysters have any break threws with there doctors? please let me know.0

I have PCOS - there is a group of us, you should join. I've learned a lot from the forum and found a diet that actually has me losing weight at a more normal rate and without killing myself at the gym 6 days a week (high fat, low carb, adequate protein).
Feel free to add me, I'm on Metformin because I have a sugar intolerance from the pcos.
There is hope!0 -
I have also ben on metformin on and off for years sent a friend request! thanks0

Super supportive and super smart ladies there!

Feel free to add me,
I was diagnosed a decade ago when I was a teen. I've was on metformin but no longer need it but I still take spironolactone for help with the hair. Do you see an Endocrinologist? I do. She's the one who helps me with the diet I'm supposed to follow and my prescriptions. An OB/GYN is not a specialist in PCOS but an Endocrinologist is.0 -
Hey girls
I have PCOS, I was diagnosed in August and really struggling. I've put nearly 3st on since then, my periods have stopped, both ovaries are polycystic, my skin is awful, I'm covered in stretch marks and my hair is falling out. I've been told I will need fertility treatment but as I don't want to start it just yet I've pretty much been dismissed by my doctor, and all she could say was "lose weight" - she is a pretty horrible doctor to be honest, she told me not to bother with a target weight because I'd "never reach it" - so I'm determined to do it now I have 3st 10lb to lose and following a low-carb paleo diet, feel free to add me!0 -
I don't have pcos, but after a lot of posts about it, it does seem to be a little harder for you to lose. This is because the calculators for calorie needs seem to over estimate a little forbyou. It's going to take some trial and error to see at what intake you lose.
I would not recommend anything drastic, but maybe if you aren't losing, cut your intake By 100 calories and give it a month. Look at overall trends and not daily fluctuations. Lower carbs (but not necessarily low carb) seems to help some women too.
Good luck!0 -
Day 3 on my low carb diet, 4lb down x0

I don't have PCOS, but have at least 3 friends who do (plus my sister). My sister (she's also been overweight most of her life) lost 30 lbs in about 3-4 months about 2 years ago... she stopped eating out, cut out soda (pop), and just paid attention to what she was eating. She also was going to Zumba one night a week and then taking a 20 minute walk most days of the week. So, please, PCOS sisters, don't give up! You CAN do this.0

I have PCOS and have successfully been losing weight and blood sugars normal now, hair growth is down and I feel great! Feel free to add me, I am a nurse and did tons of my own research and found what works for me..... Medication free.0

I have to say I laughed out loud when I saw the title of this post
Thanks to horrible doctors I am 42 and was just diagnosed with PCOS 2 years ago. The kicker for me is that I also have no thyroid due to cancer and a heart condition that limits the types of exercise and the intensity I can do. Oh and am allergic to a lot of the good vegetables like tomatoes, peppers onions that type of thing.
Yes life some days as you said is fan-freaking-tastic...lol. Feel free to add me if you want.0
