    I was bitten on the neck by a brown recluse spider last year in a remote part of the White Mountains. This happened as I walked into a spiderweb, so while I never saw the spider, I assumed it was not a brown recluse because they don't spin webs. The expert at Mass General told me that while it is true that brown recluses don't spin their own webs, they can invade other spiders' webs... and apparently that's what happened here. Had I not gone to the hospital in time.... well, just do yourself a favor and don't google image search what a brown recluse spider bite looks like. I do have a scar.

    edit: whoops, took too long typing about the spider thing. Sorry I broke the thread. :(

    Ah ok, next one: I've been burned so badly that I should have sought medical attention, but didn't. That's another scar.
