What are you having trouble with? Carbs, fat, protein? And what are the numbers you are aiming for?

Eat real food; less processed is better
Try logging what you normally eat for the next week, see what your macros look like, tweak from there.
Seriously, eat what you like, just eat less of it.
Try to make 80% of your food choices healthy, and forgive yourself the other 20% when you have a cookie or a beer or hit the Chinese buffet & have something deep-fried.

As general suggestions of what to eat...
Lean meats (including seafood), beans, legumes for protein. I sometimes make tacos or burritos with half meat, half black beans. Fewer calories than all meat, more fiber.

Whole grains, fruits & veggies for carbs. Quinoa has lots of protein too.

Healthy fats from avocados, nuts, fatty fish, olive oil.

This calculator will tell you not only your BMI, but if you put in your healthy goal weight it will tell you how many servings of various food groups in order to maintain that weight, depending on your activity level. If I put in "low" for activity, it tells me I should be eating 1541 calories, which is over what my current goal is (1400). So you might have to tweak it a bit until you're losing a little weight every week, but it's a good starting point.

This. Don't worry about the macros to begin with (they're just guides) - it's more important to fit within your calorie goals. Once you're staying comfortably within calories but you find you're consistently going under or over macros, tweak until it's more balanced. By then you should have a better idea of the macro ratios of your most common foods so you will find it easier to adjust.
