I'm a 37 yr old mother of three, and overweight. I'm tired of being unhealthy, and want to be a example to my kids. Looking forward to seeing results while hopefully getting some motivation

Hi. I'm 32 and needed to lose 86. I've lost 45 so far. Never give up. Feel free to add me if you want.

Do you have a plan you're following for workouts and nutrition?

Good luck to you! Best advice that was given to me was to buy a food scale..highly recommended!

You need to be your own motivation - if you are not 100% committed and motivated it's not going to work! I know! Back in 2003 or 2004 I was horrified when I saw pictures of myself in a family shot - I got on the scale and saw I weighed - gasp - 206 lbs. I was repulsed.

I started Weight Watchers (WW). I lost 40 lbs - I only had about 60 to lose overall. When I only had 20 lbs left to lose, I lost a lot of steam. I wasn't that committed anymore, and my personal motivation was gone. I was happy with how I looked at that point even though I was still 20 lbs overweight.

Over the years it crept back up. Then about 2 years ago I was horrified again - by a photo - and when I weighed myself for the first time in many years, I was disgusted to learn I was at 243.

I too was tired of being tired, tired of being fat, tired of being unhealthy. I lost about 20 lbs. People were telling me how good I looked (seriously?)

Then I let other things get in the way. And here I am again - when my favorite "new smaller pants (size 18) would not fasten...I got on the scale, expecting to see I'd gained maybe 10 lbs...no...I am now at my highest weight ever. 244. When does it stop?

I guess when I start caring more about myself -when I wake up every day determined to do this - for myself. Any time you have a creeping "Oh, who cares, just forget it today..." banish that thought from your mind. Because it was those kinds of thoughts that railroaded me - one day led to one more day and one more day and then...oh crap, I've messed up. Well I'll fix it tomorrow...or the next day..and before you know it 20 lbs has come back.

Be firm with yourself. Be your own motivation. You can look for inspiration from others, but the motivation needs to come from yourself.

And I ditto the food scale recommendation. Get one that does both grams and ounces.

If you believe in yourself and truly want it nothing will get in your way. This year will be my year and yours too!! :)
