Do you find yourself getting somewhat feral when it comes to protecting your food, or is it just me?

(My husband tried to grab a few of my carefully counted out almonds for the day and I nearly bit his hand off) I still share with my kids, but grown-ups try to sneak bites at their own risk  lol

I have actually said these words "I counted all of those out...just eat the rest and i will count out more for me." Yes silly I know but some days I just have to say keep your mitts off my counted out almonds. HA

You touch my weighed, measured plate, you risk getting stabbed with a fork.

Yessssss. I would leap tall buildings for garlic toast. Hubby figured this out when we were dating. He'll still try and sneak away the side order of garlic bread, just to see me snarl.

Yes 100%. Also my roasted skinless chicken breasts in the fridge are mine alone. I'll have three meals worth cooked and planned out, and my husband considers it a snack.

Yes! My kids always ask if what I am snacking on is measured, or if they can have some.

I don't mind sharing stuff that I haven't yet measured, but I have three kids who are used to grabbing off my plate. I'm currently breaking them of that habit. My husband knows not to touch my food.

I only mind if I've already weighed it out. Before then, help yourself.

Yes. I'm diabetic, carb counted for what I have on my plate, and took a certain amount of insulin to match the total amount of carbs on my plate and could experience a potentially fatal low blood sugar if I do not eat all the carbs on my plate that I took insulin for. If you touch anything on my plate without my permission, you will die.

I'm aiming for only a small deficit each day, so I don't lose it if I have to share. It's inconvenient, and yes, I have to switch from measured to guesstimated, but oh well.

There was a time a few years ago where I was on a diet I invented myself (she says smugly) where I allowed myself 100 calories an hour until 7pm (1200 calories). I exercised a ton too, so I was ALWAYS hungry. I watched that clock like a hawk. One afternoon we got stuck in traffic and everyone in the car was hungry, and I pulled out my 100 calorie snack and HAD TO SHARE. I shudder just thinking about it.

It bothers me more when I'm halfway through calculating a whole recipe. Things like have the meat weighed and cooked, set aside while I'm making something else in the pan, and someone comes in and starts picking at the meat before I can add it back to the pan. I weighed it raw, have no idea how much you stole before I caught you, now the ratios for the whole soup or casserole or whatever it is are off.
