Hello all!

I am 5 foot 2 and weigh 8 stone 9 pounds - my goal is to lose 8 pounds as quick as possible - my regular weight has always been 8 stone however this past year my weight has creeped up massively! At the beginning of last year I weighed 7 stone 8 pounds. My heaviest weight was 8 stone 13 - I have lost 4 pounds but am now stuck at this weight and need to drastically get rid of these extra pounds for events coming up in a couple of weeks - will reducing my calorie intake to 700 -1000 per day and increasing my exercise per week help this?

Is it possible to lose 8 pounds in 2 and a half weeks?!

No sarcastic comments please! Need genuine motivation as it is really starting to get me down! :( Any success stories please share!

No sarcasm. This is not healthy and could lead to very serious problems down the road.

Did I do the math right? You weigh 121lbs? At half pound a week, 16 weeks, maybe longer. Why lose at all? 121 is a healthy weight?

Reducing your intake to 700-1000 is dangerous. Don't do it.

Just to clarify I have previously dropped a stone in 2 weeks through a break up & stress - I realise that this was way too much of a drop and didn't feel comfortable at this weight, however I am a small height and have a very petite frame so anything over 8 stone does feel chubby on me. I realise 121 is a healthy weight but anything from 7 stone 3 - 9 stone 11 is a healthy weight and 8 stone is where I am most comfortable.

As previously stated, 700-1000 calories is too low and will do more harm than good. Eat a minimum of 1200 *NET* calories. Make sure you are drinking enough water and try to cut back your sodium to a healthy amount to avoid fluid-retention. Focus on lower-body workouts as these muscle groups are the largest in the body and burn the most calories.

What your wanting to do is unhealthy and unrealistic.

Anywhere from 1-4lbs is possible in that time frame. However, since you are already at a healthy weight, I'm leaning more towards 1-2lbs being a realistic number for you in the given time frame.

It would not be healthy for you to eat 700-1000 calories. Your body does need certain amounts of Macro/Micro nutrients and without them you risk serious damage to your insides.

I've done it, and had it not be water bounce. I wouldn't recommend it, didn't do it intentionally and my doctor was not so pleased. It's hard on your body to lose weight that quickly, and it won't all be fat you're losing.

Why two weeks? Why not just make the changes necessary to lose the weight slowly and keep it off?

The advice is to stay above 1200 as 1000 is still too low. You're within healthy range so movement within that range is going to be slow, and that's OK. Your health is about more than a number on the scale.

I don't need to be sarcastic to tell you your goal is totally unrealistic and unhealthy.

You won't get a whole lot of support here to eat a very low calorie diet.

If I'm converting correctly, you weigh about 130. You don't have my heart to lose so it's not going to come off easily. Set up your goals to lose .5 pounds a week, eat at a calorie deficit it, and you will lose weight.

No, you need to increase a whole lot more. Set up MFP to lose a half pound a week and eat that amount.

If you stop eating right now and only drink water for the next 15 days. And go ahead and exercise your butt off while you still have energy because it won't last but one day.

On the flip side of this, what's the hurry. If you are at a plateau this is when you go over all the data you put in MFP and make a change. Readjust you BMR and TDEE and see if MFP plan is going to continue weight loss...

But no need to be miserable, cranky and hungry. Give your self some time because if you don't, you put it back on plus extra! Trust me you will..

Blondie I lost 10 pounds by going off of carbs cold turkey and still eating Fats and Protein. It was hellish but I wanted to get off of sugars to help manage my arthritis pain. You can google the subject but my weight loss was due to water loss. A gram of carb will retain 2 grams of water I think so when you stop eating them and they all clear your body the water will leave as well.

There is no point in my view in doing so if you are not keep your daily carbs <50 grams so you can become burner of Fat instead of Sugar(carbs).

I was going to go down to 1000 until I was back at 8 stone which is 112 pounds then go back to 1200 when at this weight. I am 121 pounds, not 130
