Hi,
I'm fairly new to MFP so just wanted to say hi. I have a connected Jawbone Up24 for activity tracking and connected Withings scales for automated weight tracking. MFP very intuitive and simple food logging interface (with excellent UK food database) is the only thing I have to do ... and we're off!

I rather stupidly hadn't set 'negative calorie adjustment' and so on my more sedentary days I was getting misleading results, thinking I was 500 calories under target (but my calculated target was based on active lifestyle). I now adjusted for negative calories and am getting much truer readings, easily recognising I need to cut back on my pork life on sedentary days. the auto adjust feature also makes it a great motivator to exercise.

Anyway, you all probably knew that. Enjoying the forums, happy to be friended for additional (2-way) motivation if anyone's interested.

How often do you track your weight? I'm a month into it and had a friend write down my weight so I wouldn't see it. I'll get too caught up in the number and lose motivation if it isn't what I expected. But, I also know I need that info to track progress.

You're right. I weigh everyday. Thats completely unnecessary but as I have connected scales its no effort as it logs and updates MFP automatically. I think its important to look at a weekly trend, daily fluctuations are inevitable and you can become demotivated if you only look at weight on a day by day basis. After a couple of weeks a trend should emerge. Good luck ;-)
