I'm from DC!!! There are tons of farmer's markets on the weekends, lol. I don't know about restaurants, though, because most of the time I eat something that I don't make it's from Chipotle, haha.
Good luck, and I'm going to keep an eye on this thread for some good suggestions!0 -

I was in DC last week and was able to stay within my calorie goals every day. I was staying downtown for work. What area of the city will you be staying in? If it is downtown or Dupont I can give you some suggestions.0 -
I live in DC. Here are some quick, cheap places I like:
I love Chop't - they have the best salads - they're HUGE, filling, and around 500 calories. They have "spa" dressings that keep the calorie counts low. And the salads are already in the MFP database. http://choptsalad.com/
Maoz has the best falafel and sweet potato fries I've ever had! All of their food is already in the MFP database. I usually just get 5 falafel balls and they have a topping/sauce/salad bar that you can revisit and add to your meal. I get around 300-400 calories here. http://www.maozusa.com/
You will see Cosi's everywhere. Don't waste your time, money, or calories. It's just not worth it.
Au Bon Pain has really low calorie soups and some healthier breakfast options.
Merzi is supposed to be the Indian version of Chipotle - it's supposed to have some healthier options. I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard it's really good. http://www.merzi.com/
Sit down restaurants: Oyamel, Zaytinya, Rasika, Lauriol Plaza (AMAZING).
Hope that helps!0 -
Oh yeah, DEFINITELY check out Lauriol Plaza. It's in Adams Morgan, on 18th Street. AWESOME place, I'm so glad I live within walking distance, lol.0

It's easy to eat healthy in DC. Just like any other place, stay away from heavy sauces / creams / fried things / etc. etc. etc. But, really, is one half-smoke from Ben's gonna kill you? ENJOY it!0
