I suffer from overeating and i want to know how to stop in order to follow my diet because it keeps me from losing weight, it is that I eat my emotions and I m'enge all the time without end. And I'm still the same weight. I lose 5-10 pounds and I returned immediately.

The hyperphagia is the name of my disease.

  • You need to get self-control and see a counselor to stop eating your emotions.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but we are fat because we CHOOSE to eat what we eat. Yes we can be tempted, yes we can even have a mental or physical issue that can challenge us even more in what we eat. But with that said it comes down to a choice to physically eat what we have decided to eat. You must fight to eat the way you KNOW you must to be healthy and lose weight and that way is different for everyone. You know what foods make you fat and what foods help you lose weight, so you must determin in your mind that you WILL eat the way you should and that you are in CONTROL of what you eat and nothing else. You can do this, you are much stronger then you know.

    God Bless.

I recommend overeaters anonymous.. I am not a compulsive overeater, but I was trying to figure out what caused me to gain so much weight... So I looked in to OA... Turns out, I am not a compulsive overeater (COE).. But I still go to online meetings because the support you get from everyone is absolutely amazing!!!! They have in person, on the phone, or online meetings... Definitely recommend it! There are meetings every 3 hours online at www.therecoverygroup.org.

    Good luck!!

For a condition like hyperphagia, you should really see a specialist doctor. It's not a simple matter of self-control with a condition such as that, and a doctor would be able to give you advice on possible methods of controlling it. For most people, I would agree that it is a case of maintaining your self-discipline, but this is not normal circumstances and advice that most people could follow may not be appropriate (my friend's sister has Prader-Willi syndrome and has no form of appetite suppression whatsoever).
