I checked it out and it looks like you can really eat nothing with this diet. Not sure it's really that good for you.

I'm on day 26 and I'm on the fence about it. I've lost 15.4 pounds so far (you're not technically supposed to weigh or log food during the 30 days but I have to for a MFP challenge I participate in) so it obviously works for weight loss, but in terms of the other health benefits the tout... I don't know. I'm not craving junk food but I am craving the crap out of good foods that aren't Whole30 compliant - Greek yogurt, cheese, peanut butter, etc.

If you're the kind of person who likes doing this sort of thing, I think it's probably good since it isn't really "crazy" like a master cleanse or something like that. But try to keep your expectations in check!

If you can't stick with it, it doesn't work! :D

You could just use MFP: Eat at a deficit focusing on whole foods, incorporating everything you like. Lose weight, be happy.

This. Also, all you're doing is losing water weight not fat so you're going to regain when you stop this "diet." It's not sustainable over the long run. There are no quick fixes. If you think that you have health issues, see your doctor, get checked out and use MFP for a healthy sustainable lifestyle change if your goal is to lose weight.

This isn't a quick fix. Whole 30 is an elimination diet to learn what foods your body can't process (which causes inflammation, autoimmune diseases, etc.). It isn't meant to be followed for the rest of your life, it's just for a month of resetting your body and then a month (+/-) of testing foods after. It's the most enlightening 'diet' I've ever been on and it has had the most positive effect on retraining me to think of food as fuel and not as a treat. I wish I had done this 10 years ago!
