Hi, all. I've just started exercising and strength training. I want to keep track of what I am doing, so I can adjust my workouts as needed. Does anyone use Excel for things like this? I've looked online but I can't find anything that mirrors what I am looking for. How do you keep track of this?

I do it in a notebook. I track in notes on my phone while at the gym so I can remember the info when I get home to write it in my notebook. There are some apps you can get, but I didn't find any I liked. If doing SL 5x5 it has its own app that works alright.

I use jefit, a free app/website. I have found it to be very useful. You can create your own routines, set rest time between sets, or look for existing routines for ideas.

I use excel for an overall log. It's easy to create a spreadsheet, I give each week it's own sheet. On the left column I have days of week as headings and then exercises underneath. On the right column I can input data for the exercise (column beside it).

While at the gym I use an app called "FitNotes", it's really simple to use and tailor made to input reps/sets.

I just checked out jefit.com, very cool! I created an account and will get the app.

We use jefit, free edition. It would be nice if the app would sync to mfp.
  • Thanks everyone for the ideas.
