Newby here - would like to make friends

Hi MFP! After 24 years I have finally decided I should pay attention and love my body. I am on day 5 of the rest of my life. I am trying to enjoy the good things I've accomplished so far but I am so nervous of messing it up. I've never even attempted to monitor my food intake, if I wanted it I had it without a thought of how it affects my body. I wanted to get integrated into this community and make accountability friends so when/if I fall I've got a support system that understands and can guide me back on track.

I started on Monday with monitoring my calorie intake and watching/learning about my nutrition needs as well. I have to get a scale still but when I lose my first 5 lbs I am going to reward myself with a work out DVD. I will be making an agenda of sorts with different milestones, goals & rewards but don't want to get ahead of myself since I am still a bit naive about this all.
