I was doing sooo amazing before Thanksgiving hit!
I GAINED 1 1/2 lbs that week alone!
Here it is weeks later and I STILL am carrying around that weight!!!!
I've been really careful not going over my calories, even when my body was growling and felt hungry (probably due to the over indulgence weeks before).
I am just frustrated.... because I was doing awesome and now it seems I am going backwards!
:grumble:
Okay...pitty party over.
*** and YES I am refusing to add the 1 1/2lbs to my ticker, for fear I'll become even MORE depressed.

Honey, I completely understand. I went from eating right and exercising everyday to having surgery on Nov. 7 and being unable to do crap. I would have to watch my calories EXTRA closely just so I wouldn't gain anything. Now, I started walking again for the 1st time since the surgery on Mon of this week and have walked atleast a mile everyday, even jogged a little last night, still watching calories like a hawk and I guess I wanted to see some immediate results like I did when I first started MFP, but nothing yet. AND, I feel completely out of shape from not doing anything for almost a month. Very Frustrating!!! :grumble: Anyway, don't get too discouraged - me either - we will get through it look more fabulous than ever!!!

Change things up! I had the same problem and the second I changed my goal from 1.5 pounds a week to 1 pound...I dropped 2 pounds in one week! If your body is seriously craving food then it sounds like your BMR is slightly higher than you think. Even going to maintenance calories for a week and then going back to losing can make a big difference.0

Thanks, I kinda just shoot for 1 lb a week, I am not in a real rush...
I don't know if I am seriously CRAVING food or if my stomach is just shrinking from eating too much over the last holiday. Does that make sense? Like it's readjusting to only get the 1500 cals. I checked the BMR here and it has me at about 1540.... so I am a smidge under.
Today will be my official "indulgence" meal which I haven't really had since Thanksgiving...ya know...trying to balance it all out. We'll see if that does anything... if I am still the same by next week....it's time to get fiesty I think.0 -
Stupid turkey! I hear you. I weighed in this morning and I'm about 5 pounds more than my ticker says and I am NOT adding weight to it. The day I was 5 pounds lighter was an exception. I barely ate that day. I live in a cold climate and this is not helping either. Kick up the fiber and the water intake, this helps.0

I feel the same way too! I seem to have come to a stand-still. I was doing good, droped 17lbs in just a couple of months and now I'm still at the same weight. Well and I seem to have more water retintion even drinking a gallon of water a day. I was even going under my calories. But today I changed my workout. My daughter and I are doing the 30 day shred. I'm going to start watching my fat intake more too! See it this helps! Hang in there we are going to make it! :flowerforyou:0

 <-- singing
"Tomorrow's another day, and I'm thirsty anyway, so bring on the rain!"
"Bring o-on the rai-a-a-a-ain!"
Anyone, anyone who has successfully lost weight will tell you that there are days in the clouds and there are days in the muck and the key is remembering those days that made us feel like we were wearing a 2 sizes smaller than we actually are--that's what helps to get us through.

I with ya girl!! I (embarrassed to admit) gained SIX (yeah, six) pounds over Thanksgiving week. I went to my parents for the week, and they do not pay attention to eating right. I ate way too much and a lot of not so great for you food!!! It's like I had no self control there! I did lose two pounds this week...but still above where I was before the big day...
In reality it has only been one week since the big turkey day (ok, nine days, but that's close to seven). I know it sucks...but remember things in the overall scheme of things...you have lost almost half your desired weight, right? The first time you hit the weight you are right now (on the downward slope, of course) you were super excited, right? And 1.5 lbs...FOR TURKEY DAY...is great! You didn't expect to lose weight that week did you? I didn't....sadly enough! Get back in the saddle and keep doing what you're doing...YOU CAN DO IT!
And sadly, I did add my weight to my ticker...it was hard to see it go from 24 lbs lost to 18 lbs lost...but I keep telling myself the only way this website works is if I'm honest with myself...so I had to do it (TEAR!).
Keep your head up...we can almost see through the holiday season clouds...a couple more holiday weeks and we can get back to "shedding the pounds"!!!!
Cheers :drinker:
