No you are not doing good. Yes you will be losing muscle, protein or not.

You are a still growing 18 year old man - eat like one, not a child.

    Read this, learn, eat more.

Trying to lose such a small amount means you should eat closer to your maintenance calories as you should only be aiming to lose 1/2lb a week - to help you keep your muscle mass.

Please read the link I posted - it has some links to online calculators to help you work out your calorie goals.

Try this one - http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ - put in your details and set it to lose at a 5% calorie reduction.

Losing weight won't really help you run faster - try a running plan with the aim of helping you run faster - one with some speedwork in it.

I'm 5'11" and 175 is my goal, I'm 31 and I'm cutting at 2300 per day, Which I'm going to up to 2500, honestly you should be eating at or slightly above maintenance and lift. At 18 and playing football you're not eating anywhere near enough, even for a cut. I play basketball twice a week and football on Saturdays and lift, 2500 is almost too steep of a cut for a 31 year old, you're 18, you're doing it wrong.

Exactly my point. You should be eating more food than a 46 year old, 5'8", 140-ish lb woman who doesn't play football. :p I eat 2000+ calories on average and have successful weight loss, so it stands to reason that you would require a bit more fuel than me.

AFter you cover your protein goals you can eat anything you want as long as it fits your calorie goal. Do not get confused on whatever you think counts as "nutritious" foods because all food carries nutrition.

Eat foods that you like. Maybe add more fats and oils to your days:
butter, nuts, peanut butter, nutella, reasonable sized steak with potato and sour cream. Cheese omelets with buttered toast, grilled cheese.
Also, rice, bread, spaghetti with meatballs, roittisse chicken with broccoli.

    You're doing it wrong.

Ok, so you are a footballer (btw you need to clarify this since it confuses Americans who are thinking of a completely different game) so you should easily burn over 1000 cals during a game. You look underweight and their isn't a secret as to why here. Not sure why you want to lose another 10 pounds but that's probably not the best thing for you. I would discuss your eating and weight plans with your coach and/or trainer.

Yeah, you're not going to build muscle in a calorie deficit. You will probably need to eat even more than 2,000 calories if you're playing football (soccer) plus lifting weights on top of that. I would recommend getting a HRM and calculating your TDEE to figure out how many calories you should be eating. You should also have your activity level set to active on here.
