I have a love hate relationship with MFP this is my first time using it again in a long time! I feel as though I'm not going anywhere with my weight loss and I need a lot of motivation recently! Anyone else feeling this or do I just need to toughen up!

Is there something specific that has you discouraged? I have trouble looking at profiles on my phone so I can't see yours.

If it was easy everyone would do it and succeed. I do see people rushing into it without really thinking it through about whats required. Enthusiasm and hopeful promises can easily run out after a short time.

To give yourself the maximum chance then get yourself the right mental attitude, which will help see you through things. Support that with a decent realistic sustainable plan.
Support that with doing the basics right such as weighing your food, logging and exercise as you can manage. One of the most common things you see from young dieters is lack of patience and poor expectation management. It takes time, its a marathon not a sprint, so prepare yourself for that and seeing it through.

Take stock, dont obsessess about the scale, make some imporvements, tighten up your logging and keep doing the right things. The weight will start dropping as long as you are at a deficit.
  • @999tigger Those are some great advises friend. I've been the impatient youngster, feeling discourage after I didn't see a 2 days result. I'd forgotten that it took me 8 years of bad habits, bad eating and no activity to gain the 50lbs I am now fighting get off. So I shouldn't be asking my body to get rid of it in 1 year, not even 2. But our bodies are amazing, and they will reward us if we know how to treat them. When I feel discouraged, I try to remember that. I am my worst enemy, so I have to stop feeling sorry for myself and start acting if what I want is to finally succeed and toss those extra lbs. Good luck to all of you, be good to your bodies and results will come! :)

I also struggle with feeling discouraged if I don't see constant and immediate change in my body. Just keep telling yourself that healthy weight loss takes time and that it will be worth it when you finally reach that goal. :-)
