Best pedometers???

My pedometer has finally been used to death. I originally had a Sportline 345. It was always accurate, and durable. In spite of having been dropped on about a daily basis, it lasted for several years. I never even had to change the battery. Well, I went online and ordered two more like it but it seems that the quality has diminished for this style. The newer ones rattle a lot and do not count more than half the steps taken.
If you use a pedometer, what do you recommend for a good, sturdy, accurate pedometer that counts steps, distance, and calories?
PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A FITNESS TRACKER OR PHONE APP! I AM LOOKING FOR A PEDOMETER! All suggestions for pedometers are appreciated! Thank you!

I use runtastic on my phone. It calculates my steps, my speed and gives me a rough idea of the amount of calories I've burned. I like it.

Try amazon and read user's ratings
  • I have been to Amazon, but I have found there to be a lot to dig through. I am hoping for someone with a reliable PEDOMETER, NOT FITNESS TRACKER , OR PHONE APP, to respond with what they have found to be reliable.

Never mind, I didn't fully read your post before responding. I use a fitness tracker and that's not what you're looking for.
  • I will also say this, because most pedometers are no longer available in stores it's very hard to tell simply from looking online. I hate wasting so much money on shipping at the time of purchase then having to pay to ship it back when the thing arrives and it is no good because either it isn't accurate, or the little clip on the back does not hold well enough, or whatnot. I went through a lot of Amazon reviews and I do not find that those reviews are always that accurate. Some seem like they are perhaps being paid to give some shining review. You will find one that gets 4 stars on Amazon is getting 1 star on another web sites review. It's hard to trust online reviews really.

    It's fine. Thank you anyway!

Fitbit type tracking devices are 3D digital pedometers, Are you saying you want an analog pedometer ? Like the old school swing weight style ?

I don't know what you mean by some of that. Here is an example of a regular pedometer. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sport-Line-Calorie-Step-and-Distance-Pedometer/15651412
