My name is Debb and I have been reading an interesting book by Timothy Ferriss over the past couple weeks. I have decided after much research that by following a veggie-carb & protein diet for one month will most likely give me the desired results, being losing pounds of fat and water-weight. I currently have 20 pounds to lose. My starting weight is about 155 lb.. and I am over 50 years old so of course I will be under doctors observation during this time. On Sunday I plan to take my "before" photos, side view and front view, while wearing a swim suit. At the same time I will be taking the measurements for my T.I. (total inches). This consists of using a cloth tape measure at the mid-biceps of each arm, waist horizontal at the naval, hips at their widest point falling below the waist, and each thigh approximately midway to the knee. On Monday morning I will eat within one hour of waking up and this marks the beginning of the veggie carb & protein meal program. Before I begin I want to have an idea of the menu so as soon as I have that completed I will shop for that week, planning to eat the same meals for each consecutive week for the next 4 weeks. I will weigh myself on Saturdays and fulfill the dream of a weekly cheat day every Saturday. This is the basics of what I have learned so far from Timothy's book and I am looking forward to meeting those of you on here who want to try this out with me! If you happen to be a red wine lover as I am, the author recommends no more that 2 glasses per night of red wine only and we will be indulging ourselves with fruit and/or any other treat you would like on cheat days only. The idea is to put yourself on strict low carb for 5 days prior to a cheat day and the other thing to remember with this is that we do not actively count calories (unless you just want to of course). I am getting the menus ready for week one so I will be back soon!
Sending you all lots of smiles and happiness! We can make a difference in our health for the better when we try!

Aloha :)

Weighing myself and taking body measurements today. I will use a cloth tape and measure both upper thighs, hips at their widest point, waist at my belly button level and both biceps. I will also archive some before photos for personal satisfaction !!!

I am not publicly posting photos or measurements however I will note T.I. ( total inches) here after measuring each week. Starting to think I should have done this as a blog instead. Think I will transfer over to one.

A blog post would probably be best. I don't know why you would use a calorie-counting website to promote a plan that doesn't count calories, but good luck with your 5 pounds a week.
