Hey everyone,

I have been on and off of MFP over the last few years, mostly off. But, I am determined to make 2015 my year for getting healthy. Anyway, I have some questions and I am just looking for some advice.

I am currently 157 lbs. and would like to get back down to the 130s. My lowest weight was at 125 and I felt that I did not look my best and was too thin. I have an old stationary bike that I would like to use- anyone have success in using these? Does it matter at all that it is ancient? Lol. I also plan to go walking when it gets warmer out and to do some work outs at home like crunches, planks, squats, and doing some workouts with light weights. I do not plan on going to a gym. I also just plan to eat better. My problem now is that I don't really eat much, I skip meals and I eat late at night at times. I just need to drink more water and cut out junk which is no problem for me.

When I met my husband 8 years ago I was 160 lbs. and never even thought about losing weight, I was 14 years old and just didn't care. But, we walked everywhere since we both didn't drive and the weight just melted off. By the time I was 15-16 I was down to the 120s and didn't diet at all- just walked and did crunches. I am just scared to even begin now because I feel like I am putting too much thought into it and I am afraid to fail. I just need to start and focus and not over think anything.

Thank you for reading, any advice is appreciated! :)

your ancient exercise bike will work. Start slow with low resistance. Then work up to longer or more resistance or faster. Try doing some fast intervals then slower recovery. Repeat.

Remember tho most of weight loss is calories eater (or not eaten) and exercise helps with toning and fitness.

And watch your eating before you head down the eating disorder path. No skipping meals and eat all your MFP calories-at least your calories before you put in exercise.

As long as it has several levels of resistance, your bike should be ok.

Thank you for the response. I am excited to get started. And I just want to be clear that I don't skip meals on purpose, I would never attempt to lose weight that way.
