I too would like to know this. I chop and change. I can burn more calories doing steady running but interval training gets the heart going faster but i cant do it as long.0

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is the best form of Cardio you can do. The up and down of the Heart Rate creates and after burn affect and you burn excellerated calories for the next 24-48 hrs. Regular Interval does not do that.

Both burn fat well. Depends on what you want to do and what you can do at the gym (or at home if you're doing a HIIT program).

Interval training is awesome for weight loss.
BUT don't dismiss longer, lower-intensity cardio sessions altogether. You can keep them up longer and burn more calories in a session. They'll also improve your endurance, which is essential for if you're training for a running or cycling event, for example, and just to give you more energy to get through the day.0
