I think I finally realize what day by day means

So many times in my weight loss attempts, I have gone for the "big picture" right away. If I can lose this in 30 days or if I can make it 1 week without chocolate.
I say kick that philosophy to the curb!
I am just trying to get through ONE day right now. I just need ONE whole day that I do good, don't binge and cheat a little and justify it by saying, "Oh, that can be my extra 300 nursing calories" or "well I've done good all day"
I know how to lose weight and this isn't how I did it before, but I think...this is how i Need to do it now.
So, my goal? Get through today eating healthy. Tomorrow, we'll see. But I dont' care about tomorrow. I care about today!

Jen, I love your philosophy!! One day at a time!
Sometimes for me it is one hour at a time, or one minute at a time!
I have things pretty much under control now, 6 months into this journey, but in the beginning I set goals for myself. Small goals.
Today-i will avoid all fast foods. Period. Just today. then before you know it all those days are strung together and you have 6 months! 25 pounds....see ya!!
If I screw up...oops ate that chocolate bar....I say ok I start RIGHT NOW!
NOW I will decide to eat better, then I plan my normal foods. i dont go crazy...eating dry salad for dinner. But I tell ya, when I see those cals on my diary, I dont eat a candy bar for months!!!
