Ok I got wasted on tequila shot in Rivera Maya, Mexico and pass out on the beach along with my new Canadian friend. I woke up sun burn like hell (and yes black people burn). LOL. Do any one has any suggestion to easy the pain, because my face and top part of body hurts badly (throbing pain). It hurts to the touch as well. Any remedies or suggestion will keep.

Def. use Aloe Vera. If you can get a plant to keep around, it's best to use it fresh.

Yes, take apirin or tylenol. Or even Ibuprofen. Anything to take down the inflammation! Sorry you got so burned! It sucks!

I think someone mentioned vinegar. Some people hate the smell, but if you can tolerate it, it takes the sting away immediately.

If you can get it, Panama Jack Aftersun Burn Relief is fab, we got it when we were in Florida, and it is so soothing and helps take the sting away. Hope it clears up soon

Everyone swears by aloe but if you find you are allergic to it like I am, try menthol shaving cream. Yeah, shaving cream. No, don't shave with it, just rub it in like lotion where you are burned. After a couple of hours of just laying there with it on, go take a cool shower to rinse it off. It pulls the burn out like nothing else I've ever used.

I keep a bottle of aloe vera in my fridge. I have to rub it in my hands to warm it up just a little then rub it on the sunburn. That always seems to help. And definitely invest in a strapless bra if you don't have one!

I'm down in Florida and get burned every time! But when we were in Mexico, we couldn't find the normal sun burn relief stuff, so here's my advice.

1st- don't like aloe, it makes your skin sticky and creates a gel layer, like it doesn't absorb
2nd- if you can find it down there, use lanicane (sp?) it's usually in a spray can and says burn relief first, then use cocoa butter. If you do cocoa butter at least twice a day, then you won't peal.
3rd- In the maya riviera (we always stay in downtown playa del carmen) it can be hard to find normal burn relief stuff because of the coral in the ocean and they want you to use non oil stuff, even for sun block. I used their natural sunblock on my burn once, because I had nothing else. It is extremely oily and feels like petroleum jelly, but the next day, my burn was gone! It is a bit pricey though. :(

This is going to sound strange....but believe me, I have a fair skinned child that burns easily. Make iced tea, soak a washcloth in it and place on the burned area. We have also made a bathtub of this and let him soak when his back and legs got burned. The tea takes the burn out!!!

Also...relatively inexpensive compared to some things!!!!

Go with the aloe as others have said. Also, plain old school noxema that comes in that big old tub can help with the heat as well (do they still make that stuff?).

Yep, coming from a super fair skin red head, vinegar works, white vinegar mixed with cool water. soak wash cloth and just lay it on the sun burn, it helps sooooo much =)

Solarcaine. It's an aerosol spray with lidocaine in it...it comes out almost white and powdery. THIS WORKS MIRACLES!!! I fell asleep and got serious sun poisoning when I was about 16... I could barely bend my legs. This stuff helps immensely. Good luck...sunburns suck!! At the beach these days, I live under the umbrella!!
