What are the best ways to warm up and cool down after workouts? Would the warm up/cool down be different depending on what exercise you are donig? I did a brisk 2.4 mile walk yesterday, stretching before and during, but noting afterwards and want to make sure I am not harming myself. Thanks.

5-10 minutes of cardio before a work out and you should always stretch after any work out! The stretching is one of the most important things to do0

I almost always do the exact same stretches I do after any workout that I do before providing I'm physically able to...this goes for most everything. I think it's just a good habit to get into to help avoid injuries and to gain flexibility mostly in my case.0

I 2nd what hyde1977 said, that's exactly what my trainer said is best, additionally not to stretch before while the muscles are cold, better to warm up with the cardio 1st to warm up the muscles..0
