Broken heart and diet

Hello, nice to meet you all! My best friend of 7 years recently broke my heart. Lying and betrayal were the main events. Normally I would reach out to this friend in times of stress or sadness for comfort so I feel lost. I am eating so much food to cope and I need some help. How do you deal with a broken heart in a healthy way? How long does it take to feel better? Thanks!

Reaching out is good. Finding a support network helps. Working out is a good stress reliever and makes you feel better. I will send a friend request.0

Feeling sad is ok. Using the situation with your friend to sabotage yourself long term is not. It's time to find new ways to cope - other friends, family, church, exercise...whatever!0

You really should make yourself your #1 priority. Don't waste time or effort worrying about others. The funny thing is when you begin to enjoy your time alone, and focus on yourself, people will be drawn to you. The gym is a great place to make friends, especially a gym that has classes that you see the same people over and over. But, do it for yourself and the friendships will come. Best of luck to you:)0
