Treadmill confusion

My treadmill just started acting up this past month. I've tried to in tease my speed, and anything above 5mph, I'll put my foot down and the belt shifts up slightly causing me to lose my balance and hurt my knees. Does the belt need replaced?

Sounds like it, better to be safe than sorry x0

When you say the belt shifts up, do you mean it feels like the belt slips..
If so then it is likely you just need to tighten the belt. Often there are tightening screws that can be used or you sometimes are required to undo a section and pull a bar back to tension. Check you treadmill documentation or Google it..0 -
It may simply be loose. If you tighten it you'll need to know how to align it as well. It's pretty simple.0

Also might need more lubricant under belt. There is a spray you buy that you suppose to use ever so often0

Thanks. It's fairly old and I was more shocked I haven't had to replace it sooner.0

I actually just bought a brand new treadmill and this kept happening. The belt was slipping. So I tightened the belt and it stopped doing it. My tension screws on the very end. So look up the model of your treadmill and you can find the directions on how to do it.0
