calisthenics- what exactly is it?

I know the database here on MFP says sit ups, push ups, etc.

So would it be accurate to log The Biggest Loser Cardio Max as calisthenics? Someone on here told me thats what they log it under but It's saying for 1 hour I burned 900 calories! It seems a bit high, and I just want my journal to be accurate.

I also walked for an hour and MFP says that at slow pase that burned 285 calories. A total of 1185 burned calories for the day! That is more calories then my breakfast, lunch, and dinner! (which totals 830 calories- I know I'm trying to find a few more things to eat that will bring my calories up some)

1185 just seems like a lot of calories! Could it really be accurate? (Or pretty close- I know that MFP is not perfect but I am trusting it until I get a HRM)

PS. It's the calisthenics vigorous effort that is claiming I burned 900 calories. Would calisthenics light effort be more accurate? That one claims I burned 394 calories for the biggest loser cardio max.

Maybe you've already found your answer, but just in case

I'm new to the program just 1 week old =) ....but I also did my research, since I thought it wasn't fair push-up, situps, lunges and so forth didn't count as calories burned.

I found this info on Calisthenics http://www.calisthenicexercise.com
