Hi,
I am a mother of a 6yr old boy, whom is mostly a single parent during the week.
I have joined Body by Vii just for the nutrition and to get some energy.
But would love someone who is going to bother me every day to what I have eaten and what I have done for exercise.
if you are that person, please respond. Or if you know someone like that, please respond.
thanks
Becky

  • Hello becky, welcome to MFP I'm still pretty new to this but I can at least bother you once or twice a day about what you have been eating or what kind of exercise you have done/going to do or just try and throw some motivation your way or just have a random chat ^^

hello and welcome, im new here on MFP, but since january I have lost 49.2 lbs. Since I found this im on daily!
  • Hey Tiger I started 01-04-2011 ( so about 30-40 days ).

First week @ the Gym it was more about learning how everything works and finding my limits and a program I liked.
Currently I'm on a lose diet not rly beeing busy hardcore with hitting my Kcal goal daily.
At the end of this month I will start a 16 week diet cutting Kcal more and rly working to hit my daily goal.

This is what I'm bassicly following :

If you have a lot of weight to lose do NOT try and do it all at once. The maximal time to do fat loss diets are 12-16 weeks. And 16 weeks is the MAX. If you are not at your goal within 16 weeks, take 4-5 weeks and reefed. This does not mean eat all you want for the 4-5 weeks, it means add calories and perhaps carbs if doing a low/no carb diet and get your diet a bit over maintenance. This will allow your metabolism to rebound give you both a mental and physical break from dieting.

Crash dieting (extreme caloric restriction) rarely works. All it does is shut your metabolism down a very short time after you start the diet, and/or catabolizes a lot of muscle. Aim for a 400-600 calorie a day restriction, and along with reasonable cardio you will create a decent deficit. If you are already doing as much cardio as you can or care to, you may need a bigger caloric decrease. This all varies a LOT between people of different bodyweights and bodyfat compositions as well as the individuals metabolism. So while the suggested number will work for many people, it will not work for all.

Nagging is highly overrated, guarantee you will get sick of it pretty fast. Supportive and entertaining is the way to go, the more friends the better (although too many can be overwhelming).

I have been a crash diet a lot of my life. I sometimes think I get too little calories and too little exercise so my body has no idea what to do.
I also have an injury to my neck and back. I have to be careful what I can do, BUT the good news is... my chiropractor, MD and physical therapist are working together to get me on a program. I am so excited!
I can walk though. there shouldn't be any excuses from me.. AND DON'T LET THERE BE!!
    lot of luck to ya
