Silly Question about Scales

So, this may sound a little weird.. but I have a scale from about 5 years ago that gives me different read outs depending on where its placed... It's always on hardwood flooring, but if I shift it two inches to the right on the floor I weigh 2 lbs less than the original read out, 3 inches to the left, i gained 1/2 lb from the original read out.. Is this an issue with the scale? or does this happen with any scale?

I'll guess the scale is probably a bit odd
Either get a. New set of weigh yourself in exactly the same place0 -
Unless your floor isn't level then it's something to do with the scale. Try placing the scale on something you know is completely level (a large cutting board, maybe) and then put that item on the floor and try it in several different places. If it is still acting up it may be time to purchase a new scale.0

don't get me wrong, it's really lovely to lose 2 lbs in 2 seconds, but it's just really weird.. Thanks!AntonioP23 wrote: »I'll guess the scale is probably a bit odd

My scale acts the same way. I just make sure to place the scale in the same spot when I weigh.0

I have a newer scale and it does this. But my floor isn't level. I just measure myself in the same spot.0

My scale USED to act the same. Then someone in another thread like this mentioned level floors, including cracks between tiles. Our tile cracks are barely even visible, yet once I moved the scale so that each corner was WITHIN a tile, consistent scale readings.0

Mine does that even if I don't move the scales! I can gain/lose pounds in seconds by just stepping off and then back on.
I do it 5 times, and then take an average. It's probably time to buy a new set but I'm just too tight.0
