Replacing my own HRM battery?

Does anyone else replace their own batteries on their HRM? Mine is a Polar ft4 and needs the battery replaced. I purchased a new battery online and my husband tried to take the back off last night with a coin and nearly stripped out the groove! UGH! I probably should have just taken it somewhere, but not sure where? I live in a small town and the closest retailer is probably a 45 minute drive. Just wondered if anyone had similar experiences. THanks!

Yes! I hvar the same model and did the same thing. Take all the pieces to the nearest jewler and they will do it for free.0

If you use it for things like swimming, I would send it to the company to have it done. Inconvenient, sure, but it ensures I won't have to buy a new one because water got in mine...0
