Just wanted to introduce myself....My name is Wendy, I'm 5'2", 200 lbs when I started (195 now) and very curvy. I'd love to be back down to 130, but I have a real hard time finding foods I like that are good for me. I don't eat seafood, fish, or like many veggies. My go to lunch is apple & p-nut butter, but that's bound to get old. If anyone knows how to make healthy food taste better or has "go to" foods they use I would love to know!!!! I'll post a pic soon.

I agree with JesaGrace... search the forums, there are lots and lots of recipes listed. As well as hungrygirl.com has a bunch of recipes for healthy meals. Welcome here you're gonna love it!0

My go-to food is always Tuna - I know you said you don't like fish but Tuna can be mixed with celery, low fat mayo, onion, mustard and it makes a great sandwich spread. I even like to use it as a "dip" for whole wheat crackers (kashi has become a favorite)
I try to think high protein. I will actually not put the mayo in and add a cup of green beans and just eat this for a salad lunch.
You have to keep in mind that even though you don't "like" vegetables - they are a necessary part of a healthy eating plan! Find something that you like and WORK it work it WORK it!!
Good Luck to you and CONGRATULATIONS on that 5 lb loss already!!0 -
To be honest, I've been eating mostly the same things as I did before joining MFP, except now I'm tracking my portions and the calories in each thing I eat. And so far it's making a HUGE difference. I don't think giving up the things you love is a good way to stick with a weight loss process. I think it just takes a knowledge of what's in your food and how much of it is healthy to eat.
Good luck on here! 0 -
Stay the course..... it works.... trust it.... trust your body to get back in shape if you take care of it.
I lost over 10 pounds the fist month, but the mirror, the clothes, and the comments sure didn't back up what the scales were telling me.
After about 2 months my clothes were fitting looser and people started asking me, "Are you losing weight?" Ah, that sounded GOOOOOD.
After 3 months I was wearing the old clothes that I had out grown and people started saying things like, "Wow, you're looking great." :blushing:
Now, 4 months into it I'm having to donate my baggy clothes and people are asking me for my "secret." :drinker: Woo Hoo......
Stay the course.... HAVE FUN.0 -
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I love the cinn. apple mini rice cakes as a snack - they taste MUCH better than the big ones and they're less messy.0

Thanks ! I do eat a lot of the same things, but I try to eat a really healthy lunch because a small dinner is even harder for me & I like to save my calories for that. I think giving up the soda's was the hardest thing, but when I stoped drinking diet drinks my sweet tooth DISSAPEARED!!!!0
