so, it seems this is my loss! i re weighed about 15 times yesterday to make sure, but yes, i have lost 12lbs in 10 days. i have been logging and weighing accuratley, 1200 cals per day. i started at 222 lbs, now 210. i am 5 foot 3 and would like to lose around 50-60lbs more. a long journey a head, and i realise this initial weight loss is probably water weight etc, but still, it's a 12lb loss and i am over the moon! :D

    She said "222 lbs, now 210" 222 - 210 = 12. She was right to start with.

Why do some people lose so much 'water weight" in the beginning, while others don't? I'm curious as to the science behind this. Nevermind, I'll just Google it. LOL
