I weigh 181lbs and I really need to find motivation to lose weight. I am getting married next year and definitely not looking forward to trying on dresses. I am highly stressed and was diagnosed with depression back in 2011. I plan on doing whatever it takes to get better and get my life back on track!!! Any type of motivation would be helpful! :-)

Alesialuv14, you took the first step by reaching out and asking for help! I am willing to help! I have 113 pounds left to go and am having a blast with this app. It helps motivate me and now it isn't as hard to stay motivated. Add me and I'll help as much as I can. Accountability partners are some of the best motivation!

I agree with @1taunya2‌. You've made that difficult first step, Alesia. Just take one day at a time and if you fall off, jump right back on again and keep going! Keep the stress off by trying not to look too far forward. Set goals in small increments of 5 or 10 pounds and allow yourself to be proud each time you reach one! Visit your local market and just pick up a 5 pound package of ground beef. Take notice of just how heavy it is...5 pounds seems like a drop in the bucket until you put it in THAT perspective! Just know that If you're getting married, then your guy already loves you, ALL of you, just the way you are! So, don't set unrealistic goals and let diet stress induce new anxiety. Set those small goals, then celebrate reaching them. Emotional health always trumps being skinny any day! Feel free to add me. I'll be glad to help where I can. I've got 60# to get rid of. It took me 6 years to put it on, so I know this journey won't be short. I'm down 7 # in 3 weeks and can already tell a difference in my body. I'm excited to keep it rolling! Yay me! Now it's your turn. You can do this!

Amen! One day at a time. Setting small goals helps with motivation. Having a large end goal is great too, but keep it in line with the small goals. Take it one step at a time, one hurdle at a time. Know you are going to have set backs. We all do! I do great during the week and have most of my set backs on the weekends.

    Hi alesialuv14, 1taunya2, and siouxzcue:

I'm looking for accountability partners in my weight loss journey. I started in Oct. 2014 and did really really good for the first three months but have now hit a brick wall!! I've lost hardly anything in the past month. My main cheerleader and accountability partner has reached her weight loss goal and is hardly ever on mfp anymore. I notice a difference in how motivated I am to exercise and stay under my calorie goal without being able to cheer her on and her cheer me on in return. I have 60-70 lbs left to lose and would love to reach our goals by supporting eachother! If you're interested, add me! Hope to see your updates on my home screen in mfp!
  • alesialuv14 I too just started on my "feel better challenge" and am finding this app very helpful in the motivation department. Thank you for such an honest post, very refreshing

Hi, @cherylo86! Accountability partners do help! It's great to shout out to someone when my old enemy the Snickers Bar is calling. If my hands are busy typing, then I'm not eating! Let's lose that 60! I'll add you!
