Meal replacement bars

Hi there! Lately, after I decided to loose some pounds, I started trying the meal replacement shakes and bars... I have seen good results. But my question is this: is it a good option consuming the ones that President's Choice have? I guess I may be consuming too much sugar and fat, cuz they taste suspiciously good... I would appreciate your comments:)

I'm no pro but what I have learned so far from what all the ''pro's'' are saying is that replacing your meals with shakes or bars is always second place to a actual meal. If you have the time/option eat a real meal rather then replacing one just eat healty and small portions say 3 to 6 times a day ( like every 3 hours orso ) to stimulate your metabolism and do some cardio.
''Whole'' foods are always more healty then stuff from boxes or bags because it hasnt been messed with there are almost no extra added things like sugar or other ''bad'' stuff.

I'd have to agree with Kaizo on the long term benefits of meal replacement bars and shakes...
Short term I too saw a difference, however; it is a less healthy way to do it because of the additives and what have you.
When I need a meal replacement option I now create my own smoothie or protein shake. there are many organic options for protein powders, frozen fruits, and milk/water. I blend them then take them in a shaker glass to work that I stick in a fridge or a cooler. I can shake them up later and they taste better (in my opinion then the store-bought meal replacement shakes) and have far less sodium and chemicals..

Meal replacement bars have gotten better tasting over the past few years.
One thing I have heard regarding them is that most of them use soy protein and many people have trouble really losing weight over the long haul when they consume too much soy.
I agree with the previous poster's opinion that "real" food is always better than a replacement meal. The idea is that you should be trying to eat now the way you plan to eat into the future to maintain your weight loss. If you plan to always eat meal replacement bars (and I hope that's not the case) then eating one a day probably won't harm you or your weight loss. However, you'd be better off eating an actual meal with some fruit or veggies if you can.0 -
