Something other than chicken??

I'm trying to keep to basic salads at lunch time, light and easy to make on a morning, however I seem to be eating alot of chicken as its easy and goes with a salad easily......any other suggestions that will keep a meat intake low on fat but high in protien?

White fish fillets is usually a great option (usually Alaskan pollock), I buy it frozen and it microwaves in no time at all (well.. nearly!!). Great protein content and low calories(as well as all those other great oils that fish contain!!)!

Tuna or ham would work, both with hard boiled eggs0

I like to put tuna on my salads. You could also try some tofu, beans, or hard boiled eggs for some extra protein0

I eat a salad almost every day for lunch. There is usually ALOT of chicken going on. So when I need to mix it up I sometimes take leftovers and use that as my protein.
For example, made a rib eye the other night and then then next day I used the steak on arugula with balsamic dressing. If we had ground beef tacos, sometimes Ill take that leftover meat and throw it on romaine with salsa and sour cream.
I also like to mix up the chicken itself. So I oven poach it and then shred plain. Before making the salad, I'll take a serving and toss in BBQ sauce or Wing Sauce and then serve with my favorite ingredients. I have also been making more detailed salads, like Cobb or BLT with the chicken.0 -

This. And as others have said, there's no need at all to stick to chicken as your main protein for dinner either. Lean (and not so lean) beef in any cut, pork, turkey, lamb, fish, shrimp, etc.--all good, IMO. On a salad some cheese or hard boiled eggs also work.0 -

I love tuna with my salads but some white fish tastes great, too! Turkey is low fat/high protein. You could also add some extra protein with some beans, or even nuts0

Most of my faves have already been mentioned, but: hard boiled eggs, chickpeas, tuna, salmon (canned, I'm cheap), imitation crab (again with the cheap), baby salad shrimp . . . etc. Any and everything can go onto a salad given enough imagination0
