I have few songs I like to work out to, but I am looking for more motivational music. Maybe something alittle different. What music do you guys like to work out to? Can you guys help me out?

  • Good question. Music definitely helps to motivate me. Right now, my playlist is pretty much loud. On heavy rotation are:
    Rise Against
    AFI
    Against Me
    Blood for Blood
    Agent Orange.

But I'm definitely all about the loud punk rock. The Rise Against song Injection makes me want to throw stuff around for sure though!

I like fast paced music, good ol skool or new skool pop. Rhianna, Beyonce, *****cat Dolls, Britney Spears, Lil John if you like to get crunk, T.I. and Lil Wayne. Madonna 80's stuff, Michael Jackson, Black Eyed Peas, just throwing out a few in my IPOD, that I sweat too.

I do not listen to any music while I run or walk.

However, exercising at home I usually listen to a mix of hard rock and some songs from the past that you'd be afraid if others knew you listened to it.

For example.... "Yo Yo" by the Osmond Brothers or "ABC" by the Jackson 5.... or anything by Little Richard...lol... you can't help but laugh and have fun. Then next will be a song by Disturbed, Black Label Society, or good ol' AC/DC.

A good laugh mixed in with a determined workout is always a good thing.

Something upbeat - slow songs make me move slower. lol.

Usually Kid Rock, Linkin Park (their older stuff -- don't care for their newest cd), Nickelback.. stuff like that. I ALWAYS run to Linkin Park -- it makes me run faster and push myself harder.. :)

My workout music is mainly 1970's and 1980's heavy metal - or as my kids call it "oldies". I find the up-tempo beat works well with my elliptical machine and keeps me moving.

At the moment my playlist goes:

    Katy Perry - E.T
    David Guetta - Sweat
    Nero - Guilt
    Chris Brown - Beautiful People
    LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me
Two Door Cinema Club - Something Can Work
Muse - Resistance (really motivates me! don't ask me why!)
Biffy Clyro - That Golden Rule
    Tim Berg - Seek Bromance

Also have to add some classic 30 Seconds To Mars tunes to that list like "Closer To The Edge" & "From Yesterday"

I have my go-to playlist for couch to 5K (about 35minutes worth):

    Loser Like Me - Glee
    S&M - Rihanna
    Raise Your Glass - P!nk
Born This Way - Lady Gaga
Rolling In the Deep - Adele
Chop Suey - System of a Down
    ET - Katey Perry
Let Go - Frou Frou (This really kicks me in the tail at the end)
    Inner Glow - Blue October

I have a ton of others that I listen to but this is my favorite list for motivation. For one reason or another, the words and the beats really keep me going.

I think you should download "Lets get physical" by Olivia Newton John. I'm pretty sure that deep down it's your favorite song.

    hahaha :)
